Description
Darkly lustrous compact style antique Seth Thomas mantle clock, made between 1884-1909. Beautifully detailed bronze adorns the outer ring of the 5 inch face, covers the ornately capped feet, and ornaments both of the front sides. There is fine flowing etchings garnishing the front on all four corners of the outstanding face, and on the smooth polished base. Both sides of this great mantle clock have outstandingly fashioned lion heads, imitating door knockers, which traditionally served as lifting handles. A office clock or mantle piece for those with a true eye for quality.
Still has original Seth Thomas Clock Co. paper label on the back. The works are complete but the clock has not been started for years.
