Antique Albumen Print of Uniformed Soldier with Sword

SKU: 0014 Categories: , Tags: , ,

The soldier is possibly from the Spanish American War by the look of the uniform.  Antique soldier photos are gaining popularity steadily, and among the most popular of those photos are soldiers with weapons and in uniform.  The older the better, and this is a very old photo!

The photo is an albumen  print.    The albumen print method began  in January, 1847 and was the first commercially exploitable method of producing a photographic print on a paper base from a negative.  It used the albumen found in egg whites to bind the photographic chemicals to the paper.

Frame is original.  Photo and frame are in good condition.
