Leonard Borman (1894-1995) was a noted California painter. He started painting in 1917 while recovering from a war injury, sustained as a Canadian soldier. His mother was an artist and encouraged her son.

Well listed in Artist Biographical Books. Studied at the Chicago Institute of Art with Joseph Pennell and George Bellows.  Borman came to Pasadena in 1924, settling in Sierra Madre. His desert and other open air landscapes are most often encountered, but he was also an etcher and painted portraits of animals.  Borman lived to the age of 101.

These large and attractive paintings, with finely crafted frames, are good examples of some of Borman’s best work. Their conditions are very good and the frames are  outstanding.
