Description
An early original Steuben vase using the Aurene technique. Superb Craftsmanship!
This vase was made in the early years (1904-1910’s) of Steuben glass, and is clearly numbered on the base. This is one of an extraordinarily limited number of Steuben vases which has a pair of handles, these are so rare because of the masterful skills needed to blow two handles into a piece.
While any of the Aurene pieces are beautifully luminous and wonderfully lustrous, the Gold color has always been one of the most desirable for collectors.
This Steuben Aurene Vase has a nod to Classical Roman influence with a flattened and in-rolled top, a tapering neck and flared base, with two upstanding squared loop handles.
Absolutely a striking vase in Gold Aurene. Rich gold with multi-hued highlights, truly an imperial piece. Approximately 14 in. tall and 7 in. at the widest part.
